Dr. Joseph L. Daw Jr. is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has been in practice since 1998. He focuses his practice on cosmetic surgery of the face and body, reconstruction after skin cancer removal, scar removal, and removal of skin lesions. Dr. Daw has extensive experience in rhinoplasty, facelift, eyelid surgery, and otoplasty (ear pinning).
Dr. Daw received his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia where he received several academic honors. He received his dental degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry, graduating summa cum laude. Residency training included plastic surgery and general surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL and oral and maxillofacial surgery at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. After his residency in plastic surgery, Dr. Daw completed a fellowship in craniofacial surgery at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. Dr. Daw’s unique and extensive training places him among a very select group of plastic surgeons in the United States.
Dr. Daw was previously a member of the faculty in plastic surgery at The University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. He served as chairman of the department of plastic surgery at DuPage Medical Group.
The health care providers and staff at Oak Dermatology have been nothing short of awesome every time I have had an appointment. The front office staff is always polite and prompt, while the quality of medical care from the physicians has definitely surpassed my expectations. Everyone at oak dermatology was fantastic. They took great care of me from the time I signed to the completion of the procedure. Chelsea was the nurse that signed me in and was very professional and smiling the whole time. Dr. Bhatia was so competent and professional and I appreciate his expertise and skills during the procedure. I want to thank him as this is the third procedure he has done on me. I also want to thank Sarah who was assisting the whole time. I was so appreciative that Dr. Daw was there that day to close the wound. He is a very accomplished plastic surgeon that works with oak dermatology. Both Dr. Bhatia and Dr. Daw have great bedside manner. I have been going to Oak Dermatology since 2012, when I had my very first skin cancer. Dr. Bhatia did my Moh's surgery that time and he's been doing them ever since. Dr. Daw has done my plastic surgeries to repair the damage resulting from two cancer removals. The last few years, I have also been visiting Stephanie who periodically checks for any new cancers so she can treat them BEFORE they need surgery. I have always been treated with kindness by everyone at Oak Dermatology. For appointments, I drive 1 1/2 hours (one way) to get to their office. But, I have complete trust in their expertise so it is definitely worth it!
