Contact UsWhat Is Plasma Skin Resurfacing?
Oak Dermatology is known to be on the forefront of laser medicine. Oak Dermatology is one of the first practices in the nation to offer this cutting-edge technology of plasma skin resurfacing. Plasma skin rejuvenation is a noninvasive aesthetic treatment that uses fractional plasma and radiofrequency energy to remove damaged skin one layer at a time. The Opus harnesses the power of plasma to repair sagging skin, textured skin, scars, hyperpigmentations, fine lines and wrinkles. This treatment is matched with the most aggressive of CO2 lasers without the extended downtime. Time and again, patients see the regrowth of newer and younger skin. A microplasma spark is generated from air particles that are charged by high frequency radiofrequency energy. That microplasma spark will instantly tighten, and the deeply penetrating thermal energy will stimulate long-term skin restorative effects. This is not a “plasma pen” treatment typically seen advertised by med spas which come with a high risk of hyperpigmentation and scarring. The Opus can vastly improve texture, tone, and elasticity of the skin around the eye area safely. The surgical-like results can be impressive.
Both Dr. Jeffrey T.S. Hsu and Dr. Ashish Bhatia are not only fellowship trained in laser medicine, but are also international lecturers and teachers of laser medicine, as well as both act as chief investigators and researching with numerous peer-reviewed publications and laser studies. Dr. Hsu was also one of the chief investigators in the clinical trials and studies for Opus Plasma. Today, Dr. Hsu is an active contributor to the development of new Opus treatments.

What to Expect from Plasma Skin Resurfacing
The Opus Plasma skin resurfacing can help various skin types and tones, vastly improving the texture, elasticity, and sagging skin on both face and body . The Opus uses plasma energy to create controlled, tiny fractional wounds in the skin to kick-start the body's natural healing processes. It only targets the skin's surface to smooth away imperfections on the face. The Opus is unlike other lasers, and sits in a class of its kind.
During your appointment, a topical anesthetic will be applied and left on the treatment area to absorb. After cleansing and prepping the skin for treatment, your provider will begin gliding the Opus handpiece which consists of a special rolling tip. The handpiece, when lightly gliding on top of the skin, unipolar radiofrequency energy is emitted from the tiny metal pins. When the radiofrequency hits air, the pins will generate plasma. Microscopic channels are then created on the skin by the plasma. The treatment itself will take 30-45 minutes. During the treatment, you will feel a sensation of heat. After your treatment, your skin will feel similar to a mild sunburn but will dissipate with time.
Your provider will discuss how to care for your skin and any post-procedure products that should be used while it heals following your plasma rejuvenation procedure.
Oak Dermatology Reviews
First time here and was not disappointed! Very kind and personable doctor! Her assistant was amazing also!
I have been a patient of Oak Dermatology for years . I just had a recent surgery and once again the team was outstanding .The care is exceptional and the treatment by staff is admirable. You are treated with respect and appreciation. I would not consider going anywhere else .
The staff at Oak Dermatology were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, putting me at ease throughout my entire experience, from discussing my concerns with an eczema specialist to receiving personalized treatment options. From the initial consultation to the follow-up appointments, the entire team was warm, welcoming, and dedicated to addressing my specific skin care needs.
Wonderful, kind, and sweet Dr.
It terrified me to get a skin cancer diagnosis on my toe! My Podiatrist referred me to Surgeon Dr. Ashish Bhatia. From the time I first walked into the exam room I was treated with empathy and respect. Being prepped by PA Megan a 16 year associate of Dr. Bhatia was wonderful. Dr. Bhatia was amazing. He was kind and explained every step of the way what procedure they were going to do. He talked to me throughout the entire process to keep my nerves at bay. I was bandaged and sent to the waiting room for over 2 hours while the first layer was examined. Then it was back for round two. This time NA Faith was assisting. She was great and gentle reassuring me the whole time. Another layer and again I was bandaged and back to the waiting room for more tissue to be diagnosed this time about 1 1/4 hours. Back to the exam room with NA Faith where I was pronounced cancer free!! Now more fun by younger Dr. Bhatia no relation who is interning who applied several layers of skin graft. Might as well double it up since he said it was very expensive. It was a precision job to do it but it's in place. Then the final bandaging by NA Faith with an appointment back to my Podiatrist for possible plastic surgery. They advise you that you will be spending the day there. 7 hours later they were correct. I left the office with love and respect for everyone that was part of my team. I more than ever agree that 5 stars aren't enough for the wonderful care I received. I would recommend Oak Dermatology for everyone that needs their service. Thank you Staff you are the greatest.
