Contact UsWhat is a HALO® by Sciton Treatment?
A Halo treatment is designed to address scarring, sunspots, fine lines, and enlarged pores while improving your skin texture. This hybrid fractional laser treatment is both ablative, which removes a superficial layer of the skin, and non-ablative, which focuses on the surface layer of the skin without physical injury.
What to Expect during a Halo Treatment?
Before undergoing a Halo treatment, patients will have a consultation with one of Oak Dermatology’s experienced estheticians to assess skin type, discuss specific concerns, and determine the appropriate setting for the treatment. Additionally, the provider will provide education for pre and post-treatment care instructions to optimize results.
Preparation: On the day of treatment, the patient’s skin will be thoroughly cleansed and a topical anesthetic will be applied to enhance comfort during the procedure. Protective eyewear will also be provided to shield the eyes from the laser.
Sensation: Patients may experience a warming sensation and mild pricking during the treatment. The integrated cooling technology, as well as the numbing medication, helps manage any discomfort. Following the treatment, the treated areas may feel like having a sunburn.
Treatment Duration: Sessions typically last between 60 to 90 minutes. After treatment, patients can expect a downtime of approximately 5-7 days, which consists of having no sun exposure, not wearing makeup and a red appearance on the treated areas.
Oak Dermatology Reviews
Rhonda Collins (NP) is absolutely amazing. Patient, Friendly , Brilliant. Ask excellent questions and has been able to get to the bottom of my son’s on going skin issues. Highly recommend!
The whole staff was incredible! I had Dr. Alhadidi. She gave me lots of explanations and thought processes for what was going on with my skin. She gave me several treatment options and progressions (like if A doesnt work, we'll try B, and if it still doesnt work, let's do C). Other dermatologists would just give me one treatment option with no explanation. Now, my skin feels really great. I still can't believe it, because nothing else worked.
I've been coming here for 3+ years for laser hair removal and totally recommend it. Hannah makes me feel at ease and comfortable as well as answered all my questions pertaining to laser hair removal. Office is clean and checkout is a breeze. Building is easy to navigate.
Oak Dermatology is an amazing practice! I met with Dr.Hsu for a consultation and absolutely loved how thorough he was in explaining particular procedures to me, given the areas I pointed out that I wanted improvement in on my face. Once I came in for my treatment, him and his staff spent so much time explaining everything, including post care treatment. They are so nice and they are amazing in how they treat their patients. They don’t rush at all and truly can tell they care and treat everything equally as important no matter what you’re in the office for that day. Dr.Hsu was so great during my laser treatment and gentle throughout the entire procedure. He answered all my questions and did not leave the room until he was sure I was ok. I would absolutely highly recommend and will definitely continue to use Oak Dermatology for any future cosmetic (and medical) need! You will not be disappointed!!!
The best dermatology team I've ever had! Stephanie and everyone were so friendly and creative in getting my skincare back on track. I have no more acne and my Rosacea is getting better by the day. I genuinely couldn't ask for a better skincare team to have my back, literally!

Do I need a HALO® by Sciton or BBL Treatment?
For patients more concerned about scarring, pore size, texture, sun damage, or melasma, HALO® by Sciton is the better option. For patients who are happy with their skin texture, but are concerned with their redness, brown spots, blood vessels, or inflammatory acne, BBL is recommended.
